Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh, better known for their endless deserts and very hot summers, hosting for the first time the “Winter Wonderland festival”. 
A fun and amusing festival for all family members with a wide selection of games, events and many shows and performances. Visitors can sample, in an enjoyable atmopshere, local and international cuisine at food stalls.
Of course the Gelato from Giovanni L. is also part of this unique event.

After a three-month construction phase, another Giovanni L. store has finally opened in Saudi Arabia. In the eastern Alkhobar, right next to the persian gulf, you can now choose from a huge selection of delicious gelatos, alongside various bakery products from our local partner Bagel Brothers. There is something for every taste!

At the Giovanni L. gelato showcase, guests can choose among at least 48 different flavors. Anyone trying to decide is spoiled for choice! The absolute favorite among the local people is our flavor sicilian pistachio verde.

Riyadh, 20. December 2018

The annual three-week long Al Janadriyah festival will again be held in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh. This year from the 20. December 2018 onward, more than 4 million visitors are expected.

The festival includes competitions in camel riding and horse racing, performances of folkloric dances, musical and theatrical performances, various markets as well as seminars and lectures by arab writers. The government and state organizations are also using this big event to present their activities. In addition, visitors can look forward to a wide selection of culinary delights. Of course, Giovanni L. is also present, with an ice cream stand. Our Gelato, already known among the residents of Riyadh, was very popular and in great demand.

For the opening celebration of the new Giovanni L. ice cream parlor, our very own executive directors traveled to Riad to honor the occasion. At the heart of Riad, in the Al Othaim Mall, the opening was met with a lot of enthusiasm. People of all ages visited the festively decorated ice cream parlor on this day. Not only was the opening celebrated, but also the expanding collaboration with our partners through the exchange of experiences and know-how. Plans for another three new ice cream parlors in the near future were also made.

The growing and active demand for Giovanni L. has led us and our franchise-partner Mr. Ingo Brauer to expand in more ways. The current and old Express-stall at the Alexa-Foodcourt is currently being renovated and extended into a full ice cream parlor/café.  The new space will offer more than 130 seats for our guest and a wide range of our gelato-creations and services.

 Giovanni L. managing director Jörg Fischer is looking forward to the opening in mid-december: “We have decided to be even more present at Alexa together with our partner. The steady demand and the positive feedback in recent years have motivated us to this step. With good service and exceptional ice cream-flavors with selected ingredients, we would like to invite our guests to linger and enjoy. “

Anyone who already knows Giovanni L., recognizes the typical colors and visual language of our brand at first glance/sight. Upon entering, you immediately notice the well-known elements such as the opulently decorated ice cream display, the golden furniture elements and the extraordinary ice cream flavors.

After a long construction phase, the newly built Hörnbad (indoor swimming-pool hall) in Kiel opened on 5 October. At this time the sports area with the long 50-meter pool and the secondary pool are open for use. The spa and wellness area with a sauna and waterslides on the top floor will open later. The Giovanni L. ice cream parlour in the entry area provides a delicious refreshment in between. Giovanni L. employee Karim Baccar was present at the opening: “Soon there will be a menu with all sorts of ice cream cups. We look forward to many hungry guests.”

This year 17 Teams united again for a common good cause and set sail under the slogan ‘UKSH sails against cancer’. Thanks to this charity event organized by the UKSH (University Hospital of Schleswig Holstein), 6.700 € in donations were collected. Beneficiary will be the sport and movement therapy at the UKSH.

 The event closed on a relaxed note, with snacks, drinks and our Gelato De Luxe. All participants and guests were invited to enjoy our Gelato and while away the rest of the evening.

 We want to thank the UKSH for this successful event and offer our congratulations for the donated money.
